Case Detail
Gladys Musiere is a 58-year-old widow contending with severe infestations of jiggers and lice. The adverse effects of the jiggers have resulted in the amputation of some of her fingers and toes, making mobility a significant challenge. Despite these formidable obstacles, Musiere actively engages in a daily quest for bedding opportunities from one homestead to another in order to secure sustenance.
Musiere, grappling with mental health challenges, is the mother of four sons. Regrettably, she is unaware of the whereabouts of her eldest son, aged 28. Another son is struggling with mental impairments and is similarly burdened by a severe jigger infestation. A third son is presently incarcerated. The dwelling Musiere occupies lacks essential furnishings, consisting only of a fragment of a mattress and some worn clothes for herself and her mentally impaired son. The deteriorated roof allows rainwater to permeate the house during adverse weather conditions.
