Case Detail

Mr. Pepela’s residence is characterized by a simple fence and comprises of two small houses with grass-thatched roofs and mud walls. He is 78 years old and literally survives on begging excursions. Mr. Pepela discloses that he is a father of 8 children, with the oldest being 57 years old and the youngest 50 years old. However, he has difficulty in recollecting the last time he had communicated with them.

Mr. Pepela fondly recalls Governor Natembeya’s school days, emphasizing the close connection he once shared with the governor’s elder brothers and uncles. As a widower, Mr. Jackson Pepela’s singular wish is to have dignified housing, allowing him to depart this world with a sense of dignity.

His current abode lacks furniture, but he expresses gratitude for Governor Natembeya’s intervention, which included providing a mattress that significantly improved his sleeping conditions on the hard, sack-covered floor.

Mr. Solongwa resides on ADC-owned land as a squatter, living with the constant fear of potential eviction. Nevertheless, he values Governor Natembeya’s involvement with the ADC administration, preventing their immediate displacement and seeking a lasting solution. Mr. Pepela aspires to acquire both land and a house, enabling him to prepare for his final moments with dignity.
